What’s on Your Mind ‘09 is a blog carnival designed to challenge writers and encourage conversation.
This month I’d love to focus on the psalms for What’s on Your Mind. No rules, no regulations. Just a month of lovin’ on the psalms! You in? Join in at anytime.
About What’s on Your Mind ‘09:
- Each Tuesday will feature a new topic.
- Topics are added by YOU!
- You can suggest a topic through comments below or via email.
- Topics will be posted on this page approximately 2 weeks prior to their assigned date.
- If you do not have a blog, or prefer not to link, add your thoughts on the topic via the comment section.
- Bloggers, please use a permalink for your post, instead of your home page. Questions, click here.
- The aim is for bloggers to link their post up on Tuesdays. However, feel free to link up later in the week. You can also write on the topic before the carnival date, just remember to link your older post.
- In your post, please add a link to Heart Reflections so others can join in on the fun!
- Heart Reflections is the home of this carnival, however, it would be great to feature other bloggers. If you would like to host a week, please let me know!
- Any inappropriate post links will be deleted.

Something really struck me from yesterday’s sermon (delivered by your preacher/hubby-man): We get into this mind set that God is there to “serve us” but really, we should be in the mind set that we are here to serve HIM. What can we do to serve HIM? Wow! It’s so true and VERY thought provoking, at least for me. SOOOOO excited to have you back blogging! BTW, Nathan almost cried yesterday when we didn’t stop to say hello to you after the service. He LOVED your singing (as did I). Peace, Nicole
Hey Nicole! Yes, that point hit me too. I loved listening to all the word pictures that we use to describe God and how Marc (and the author Mark) “justified” the image of a goose. It seems almost inappropriate at first. But when described as the Celts saw it – you realize that it’s perfect!
Give Nathan a big hug for me! =)
Hi Shane,
Just wanted to let you know I got Mr. Linky installed and my post is ready to go Tuesday!
So, I have what may seem like a stupid question…are we supposed to post our thoughts on TUesday only or anyday that week?? I am so scattered with new classes right now I can’t get on track and I was really planning on joining you in these writing prompts….can I be a slacker and link up as long as its in the same week?haha
Great question Cassandra! Links can be added ANYTIME… whether it’s Tuesday or during the week. You can even post your thoughts before the carnival date and then link up with your past post… totally up to you!
Shane,
I’m so glad you found me through Elaine’s blog. When I linked to your blog, I immediately recognized your design. I’ve been checking out blog designs to get ideas so I can eventually have a blog design makeover for Heart Choices. And yours was one I really liked. :)
I just agreed to link up on Tuesday with “In Other Words Tuesdays” but I would be happy to post on this topic on Wednesday. As you mentioned in your comment to me, I did mention 2 Cor 1 on Elaine’s blog. The Lord is working on my heart and this chapter is encouraging to me as I go through some challenging times.
BTW, Lysa TerKeust was our keynote speaker at my home church in Phoenix this past spring. I had the honor of beinge hostess for Lysa and Holly Good during their stay and simply loved them. Lysa was encouraging me to attend She Speaks and gave me a book on speaking and writing. I’ve already attended a similar program several years ago called CLASServices with the Littauers.
It is great to meet you through bloggy world. Isn’t this fun?
Whew! Originally I stopped by here this morning to make a suggestion for What’s on your Mind ‘09? But God had some other things to see to first. *grin*
I have been thinking a lot lately about the issue of worry. Some people say to worry is to sin. I’m not sure I fully agree with that position, and I would love to hear what other people think.
Hey, Shane!
OK, I like this weeks WOYM topic! And thanks for letting me be an example. I wrote a similar post this summer, which I actually like better. You don’t need to, but if you want, you can link to this post instead. http://surviving-motherhood.blogspot.com/2009/06/encouragement-for-failure-mom-and-burnt.html
Love you,
Karen
Hey, was just looking to see what was on the schedule for WOYM this week…
Yikes! I’ve got to update! October is Prayer month here at Heart Reflections. I’ll get everything together tonight.
