I wish this picture was mine.  It’s not.  But, it’s perfect, isn’t it?

Psalm 18:2 is what I am standing on this year.  How about you?

I love the picture and vs. I wish I could say I was choosing a powerful verse like I was ready for a great battle in life and I will have God as my fortress. But my battles are trivial petty trials in life. I want to be a strong woman of faith who weathers great storms and comes out stronger. Yet I can’t even overcome small trials of self-image, caring about what people think of me and wanting material things. But I have to stop trying to figure it out and just trust God. Which leads me to my first vs – I found here last week. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5,6
Also to help me when I am wanting something even if it is trivial(I know there are starving children all over the world and yet I want furniture, new clothes, etc) John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” I will ask God to put this vs in my head anytime I want more things. If Jesus said he will fill me up then I should stop looking to be filled elsewhere.
Thanks Shane for this push that is helping me focus on Scripture.

What an awesome picture to go with your verse! (I see that you are good at picking out just the right picture to illustrate your posts.)

I love that He is our rock. Big rocks are unmovable! I also like that we can stand on big rocks, just like we can stand on Him and His word.

You made me think about what verse I anchored on last year–All things work together. . . –and I think I need to keep it this year as well!

Nicole, That is beautiful! I know you struggle as we all do. Knowing what we need to do by trusting in God all the way and everyday life where we can go through a day and not give him a thought… I had a picture I wanted to add but didn’t know how do accomplish that so I will go with my anchor verse for 2009.
“he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
I look at my family and see his wonderful presence and I remind myself it is all because of him that they are happy and healthy and he will continue to take care of them the rest of their life. I am so blessed to be a tool he uses to guide them in his Word
    Have Blessed Day!

My anchor verse for 2009, 1 Corinthians 2:2: For I resolve to know nothing this year except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

    He is my anchor,
    Joy
