Today I am participating in a fun blog carnival called “Works-for-me Wednesday” hosted by Rocks in My Dryer.
First, an update. The yellow stains under the arms of white t-shirts DO come out when you scrub them with baking soda! Thank you to all of the commenters last week. I’m also happy to tell you that baking soda helps get ANY stain out of clothes. My daughter was riding her bike through rain puddles last week and got splashed all the way up her back. Of course, she was wearing a WHITE t-shirt! So I sprayed the shirt that same night with Oxi-Clean and washed it… but all the stains did not come out! But, because YOU told me to use baking soda, I had a box handy and scrubbed the shirt with baking soda and let it sit over night. And sure enough – the stains are gone. No more expensive stain removers for me! Just a box of baking soda please!
One of my absolute favorite resources is this handy
purse-sized book called My Time With God. It is the entire New Testament divided into daily readings. Each reading includes excerpts of the Old Testament along with a short commentary. Along with the daily readings it provides reflective questions to help you apply the scripture to your life or journal. If you are looking to read your Bible more often, this is a good place to start. I love this book and use it all the time.
Finally, I have an exciting announcement: Karen from Surviving Motherhood will be here answering YOUR questions later this month! What questions would you ask this blogger, speaker & published author? Check out her latest book Finding Joy
: more confessions of an irritable mother plus her current giveaway!

Oooo….I’m going to try the baking soda trick! My favorite white shirt was, ironically, stained by a stain stick! Anywho, thanks for the awesome tip! :)
Great! I’m going to try the baking soda.
I’ll have to try this one. Sounds like what I’v been looking for for my hubby’s t-shirts! Thanks!
My Time With God sounds like a great book; I’m looking forward to picking it up soon – Thanks! Have a blessed day, Whitney

Going to try this!! Thank you for sharing!!
Ooh, baking soda … who knew?! Thanks for that great tip. I’ve tried EVERYTHING (well, except for baking soda!) on our white shirts.
Just started 3:16! It’s great, and I’m looking forward to the next chapter. :-)
I love that everyone’s tips worked for you last week. Thanks for this fun post with a great announcement!
You know I had that very question on my mind! Can I ask a dumb question? Do you make a paste or just sprinkle it on the stains? What do you scrub with, a brush or just rub together? Boy I must sound stupid to you about now! thanks for any info.
